Skylander OCs: Lightcore

Now that all of my planned normal Skylanders are out of the way, I can focus on two special sets. One of which is the Lightcore.

For those not in the know, Lightcore figures are different from normal kylanders in three major ways - Firstly, their artwork and figures are in different poses. Secondly, their figures have a part of their body which lights up when near the Portal of Power. And the main difference is that when Lightcore Skylanders arrive in-game, they give off a burst of energy which destroys everything in the immediate area.


Lightcore Rainboom

Rainboom grew up in a bright corner of Skylands amongst her fellow Pandians, she and the other Pandian children were free to play anywhere they pleased… except their village’s sacred rainbow pool. When Kaos brought the Darkness into Pandian territory, all the adults and children fled to new, safe lands. But Rainboom was forgotten and was subject to Kaos’ wrath. She fought with Kaos’ forces to no avail, and accidentally fell into her village’s rainbow pool. Blessed with new powers, Rainboom defeated Kaos’ minions, forcing him to retreat. Rainboom has been both a local hero and a Skylander ever since.

Primary move: Fires a rainbow forward from her hands. More damage with upgrades.
Secondary move: Spins while travelling to create a rainbow ring around herself. Range and damage increases with upgrades.
Special move: Jumps up and creates a rainbow beneath herself to fly on.
Soul Gem: Holding the Primary Attack button makes Rainboom do a rainbow-powered flying kick forwards.


Lightcore Seed Pod

Seed Pod comes from a species of plants that spend most of their time with their legs buried in the soil, however Seed Pod developed a fondness for having her legs out of the soil and moving around. She wandered Skylands for months before settling with a Mabu farmer, who found her ability of spitting seeds out of her mouth rather useful. She was also eventually found by Master Eon, who persuaded the reluctant farmer to give her up. She now fights alongside the Skylanders though, being a plant, she has trouble telling good from evil.

Primary move: Spitting a seed from her mouth. Can be upgraded so that the seed explodes.
Secondary move: Launching seeds from her back that drop onto enemies. Can be upgraded for more seeds and range.
Special move: Summoning a beanstalk. Gets bigger with upgrades.
Soul Gem: Seed Pod can float on water.


Lightcore Count Batula

A child of the world unknown to mortals. Batula came from a family that ruled over the majority of the land. But land and power didn’t interest the young Batula, instead she abandoned her regal heritage in search of adventure, and she soon became known more for her heroic deeds than anything else. Even when her mother became too old to keep her throne and she had inherited the title of Count, Batula stayed away. Only through a bargain with Eon himself did Batula return. Accepting her role and ready to defend her homeland.

Primary move: Sends a bat flying towards enemies. Power and amount of bats can be increased.
Secondary move: Becomes shadow-like to travel faster and avoid hits for a short time. Duration increases with upgrades.
Special move: Transforms into a bat to fly. She cannot attack while in this form.
Soul Gem: Bats target multiple enemies.


Lightcore Cannon Fodder

Cannon Fodder comes from an ancient race that has long been extinct in Skylands. Having been a fossil for millions of years, he was brought back to life through a chance meeting of Earth energy and Life energy. At first, Cannon Fodder was confused by all that had changed in Skylands, but then he noticed something more important – he had lost his right arm during the resurrection! Using the knowledge past down from his long-dead tribe, he constructed himself an earthen cannon which he then fixed to where his right arm used to be. He first turned this cannon on a band of Cyclopses that were attacking some Skylanders.

Primary move: Fires a stone from his cannon. Power can be increased.
Secondary move: Fires several small rocks from his cannon which scatter. Power can be increased.
Special move: Fires a stone rocket upwards which automatically targets nearby enemies.
Soul Gem: Stone rocket can be aimed.


Lightcore Fire Starter

Not much is known about where Fire Starter came from exactly, some say that he was brought to life by the Arkeyan race while others say he used to be a Portal Master himself. Wherever he came from, it is well known that he wields the element of Fire almost completely freely. He had difficulty fitting into Skylands at first, since he accidentally set fire to everything he touched. He had burnt down several villages before Master Eon transported him to a stone castle to live in. He still leaves this castle to fight with the Skylanders, even though he usually ends up burning everything.

Primary move: Breaths fire. Power can be increased.
Secondary move: Summons a column of fire. Amount of columns increases with upgrades.
Special move: Produces a giant explosion of fire. Power can increase.
Soul Gem: Fire Starter’s body damages attacking enemies.


Lightcore Tough Cell

Starting off as a mere amoeba, Tough Cell was granted immortality when he freed a powerful genie from its prison. Since he was now immortal, Tough Cell has had to cope with millions of years of evolution, growing new fins and scales until he had ended up as a large fish. But during those millions of years, Tough Cell had meditated and developed impressive psychic powers that now allow him to form himself a new body entirely out of water, which he uses whenever the Skylanders are in need of his help.

Primary move: Produces a long watery arm which strikes forward. Power and range can be increased.
Secondary move: Morphs his body into a ball to roll quickly. Duration and power increases with upgrades.
Special move: Dives forward to avoid danger. Can be upgraded to knock enemies back.
Soul Gem: Regains health while in water.


Lightcore Lucy

When Lucy was a young girl, her parents taught her about an ancient civilisation that harnessed the power of the sun and used it for their magic. Being the eager youngster she was, she decided to study this further. Lucy soon stumbled upon a book of spells that the race had used. Weaving herself a powerful sunsuit mentioned in the book, she became an expert in the magical arts very quickly, but she accidentally transported herself to New York; where she met a lonely lizard man named Saurus. Feeling sorry for him, she took him in and they now live together. Master Eon discovered the two when Lucy, again accidentally, transported herself and Saurus to Skylands.

Primary move: Fires a ball of yellow magic. Power and range can be increased.
Secondary move: Produces a magic shield that deflects projectiles. Duration increases with upgrades.
Special move: Uses her magic to propel herself forwards.
Soul Gem: Magic balls can be controlled.


Lightcore Camera Shy

Camera Shy was produced as a drone for Troll Home Security, he made up one of the lines of defence along with many others like him. When the Skylanders attacked Troll Home Security, Camera Shy initially fought against them, using his arm lasers to fight, but he stopped when he saw many other robots on the side of the Skylanders – Camera Shy had not known any robot to be free-thinking before – It was then when he saw that he had been on the side of evil the entire time and aided the Skylanders in their victory, even though leaving his masters hurt him. Camera Shy now seeks other robots who have yet to see the error of their ways.

Primary move: Fires a laser from one of his arms. Power can be improved.
Secondary move: Makes a flash with his camera eye to stun enemies. Range can increase.
Special move: Uses his arm lasers to create a damaging tripwire. With upgrades, up to three tripwires can be active.
Soul Gem: Holding the Secondary Attack Button summons two other security drones to attack for a short time.
